Alabama State Property Auction Starts Thursday Online

Airplane fuselage, anyone?

That’s one of more than 500 items the state of Alabama is putting up for auction Thursday morning. You’ll be able to bid on everything from cars, to computers, to TVs.

The auctions used to be held in a crowded Montgomery warehouse, but now you can bid on items online. GovDeals.com will host the auction starting at 7:30 a.m. Thursday. Bidding ends at 6 p.m. February 5.

Most of the items up for bid are surplus property that state and federal agencies no longer need. But some are things that were abandoned at airports across the Southeast.

You’ll be able to see the full list at GovDeals.com/AlabamaSurplus starting January 30. Or, you can see the items in person from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday at the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs’ Surplus Property Division warehouse, 4950 Mobile Highway.

For more information about the online auction visit www.adeca.alabama.gov/surplus or call 334-284-0577.
