General Overview


GovDeals is seeking an Inside Business Development Representative (IBDR) to drive revenue and growth in its online government auction business by supporting the field-based sales and client services teams in the eastern/central US through persistent and strategic phone and email communication. The successful candidate will live near and work at GovDeals offices in Montgomery, AL. This position reports directly the GovDeals VP of Business Development. The IBDR is an evolving role, and the successful candidate should be willing and able to perform other reasonable tasks as assigned. Below are some of the primary job duties.




•Use existing knowledge of inside and field-based government-sector sales to successfully engage prospective opportunities and selected existing clients from a home office environment
•Proactively prospect for new business in the western US, generally with a goal of securing strong leads and appointments for the field-based sales and client service team
•Strategically, professionally and persistently follow-up on all prospecting activity
•Immediately document all prospecting calls, emails, research activity and internal communication in the CRM
•Work as directed, with the Sales and Customer Service Representative teams, to maximize sales from existing clients
•Conduct online webinar presentations to introduce the GovDeals solution to prospective clients
•Monitor the competitive landscape, conduct research, and provide data for sales efforts
•Share successful strategies with other IBDRs and field-based teams
•Leverage the various support teams, technology, internal database and CRM though disciplined engagement and use
•Support the agreed-upon mission ethically, enthusiastically and professionally as a member of the GovDeals sales team
•Consistent and disciplined commitment to daily job performance and duties are essential to success in this role

•5+ years of inside or outside sales experience
•Experience and success in government-sector sales a plus
•Willingness to occasionally travel to sales meetings, presentations or conferences
•Well-developed Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Web Presentation and Internet search skills

•Excellent verbal/written communication skills

Professional image and conduct

•Conference and trade show experience a plus
•CRM experience is essential
