Liquidity Services Recognized as a Top E-Waste Recycler

As you may have seen, our Government Liquidation marketplace was recently recognized as a top e-waste recycler by Sims Recycling Solutions, the global leader in electronics reuse and recycling. The numbers are truly staggering when it comes to our recycling efforts. In 2012 alone, Liquidity Services recycled more than six million pounds of electronic waste on behalf of the Department of Defense.

To put that number in perspective — our 2012 recycling efforts are equivalent to:

  • 750,000 gallons of gasoline conserved
  • 174,000 trees planted
  • 1,500 cars removed from the road

Together with the 13 other companies recognized in 2013 by Sims, a total of 100 million pounds of e-waste have been recycled in 2012 alone. Our entire team is dedicated to not only improving financial recovery for our client’s surplus assets, but to delivering real sustainability solutions. The six million pounds are impressive, but just a fraction of the total 2 billion pounds of scrap material we have successfully recycled or been able to work with our buyers to repurpose. This material becomes the engine for small businesses, creating value that does more than just extend the life of the scrap, but creates meaningful businesses and helps drive the economy.

We are proud to be a trusted partner to the world’s top retailers, businesses, and government agencies for zero-waste initiatives and sustainability planning through innovative management and disposition of surplus assets and inventory.
